South Adams Structure Fire

On December 8th, 2025 at 07:18 South Adams County Fire Department, Adams County Fire Rescue and Platte Valley Ambulance was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 8000 block of Krameria St. in Derby. Tower 24 arrived to a small one-story residential with a working fire from the Alpha-Delta corner and split crews with the primary search and outside ventilation. Engine 23 secured the water supply and then pulled a 1 3/4 line for fire attack with Truck 23 assisting. Battalion 21 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and requested a major incident tone. Crews got the fire under control quickly and started the overhaul. Two occupants were treated on scene and later transported for evaluation from the effects of the fire. Crews also rescued 10 dogs from the home, while 4 dogs succumbed to the fire.
