Sterling Structure Fire Fire

Just before 17:00 on April 24th, 2025 Sterling Fire Department was dispatched to a camper fire in the 500 block of Elwood St. En-route dispatch updated that the fire had spread to a nearby structure. Fire 1 arrived on-scene reporting a camper with heavy fire that had spread to two adjoining structures. Multiple lines were deployed to the camper and both homes. Crews searched both residents and found no parties inside. Multiple animals were found and removed. The fire had spread to the exterior of both homes and into the attic. Crews completed extensive overhaul on both homes. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital and later wed cleared. Merino Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to cover the city. The cause is under investigation by Sterling Fire investigators and the Sterling Police Department.
