Strasburg Garage Fire

At 22:33 on November 18th, 2025 South Metro Fire Dispatch alerted the I-70 Corridor to a reported structure fire in the 55900 E. County Rd 46 County Rd. 46 in Strasburg Fire Protection District. Additional information indicated that this was a working fire with a residential structure threatened. First arriving Battalion Chief 91 sized up a 30×20 detached two-car garage well involved with collapse and declared a defensive strategy with exposure protection as the priority. Engine 81 layed out a driveway supply line and went to work on exposure protection. Water operations were established on County Rd. 46 and a second attack line was placed in service. Chief 71 was assigned to safety and Chief 81 assumed operations. The fire was controlled within 15 minutes with extensive overhaul required. The garage and the vehicle inside were a total loss. There was no damage to the adjacent residential structure. Chief 82 conducted the investigation and determined that the fire was accidental due to oily rags.
