Arvada Structure Fire

At 15:09 on July 3rd, 2025 Arvada Fire Protection District and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the area of W. 44th Ave. and Ward Rd. in Wheat Ridge. Bureau 52 reported smoke showing in the air from Ridge Rd. & Ward Rd. Jeffcom 911 received multiple calls and Wheat Ridge Police officers arrived to fire showing and broke a window to rescue a pet dog which was able to escape the fire and was later reunited with its owner. Rescue 52 arrived to a working fire from a small single-story business with active fire, pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack with Medic 52. Battalion 53 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 51 to pull a 2nd line in for fire attack and the primary searches with Tower 2. Medic 55 with medical and Truck 60 with the ventilation. Crews found fire that extended into the attic space which was quickly controlled with fire on the back deck area including several vehicles that were involved. Crews worked in the mid 90’s temperatures before getting the fire out at 15:45 and crews started overhaul and the investigation. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
