Arvada Vegetation Fire

On April 13th, 2026 at 11:49 Arvada Fire Protection District was dispatched to a vegetation fire in the area of the I-76 & Sheridan Blvd. Jeffcom 911 received multiple 911 calls from motorists on Sheridan Blvd. and I-76 reporting the fire. Crews arrived to a dry vegetation fire burning off I-76 near the Gold Strike Park and Clear Creek Trail along the creek bed. The fire grew to about an acre in size before firefighters contained and extinguished the blaze. Multiple units remain on scene with overhaul on hot spots unit around 15:00. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District
