C-470 Semi Tractor-Trailer Fire
On June 30th, 2026 at 21:15 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a vehicle fire on C-470 between Hwy. 285 and Morrison Rd. in Morrison. Tower 10 arrived to a semi tractor and trailer fully engulfed spreading to the vegetation on the shoulder of the highway, which was quickly put under control. Because of the incident location, the nearest hydrant was located approximately 1 mile away on W. Morrison Rd. A water tender was requested, and since Tender 6 was already on scene of the vegetation fire at the Fox Hollow Golf Course, mutual-aid with Foothills Fire & Rescue was called to the scene. Tender 561 arrived and supplied the water supply. The driver self extricated, prior to crews arriving and was not injured. Westbound C-470 was closed for about two hours during the incident. The vehicle was transporting potatoes and caused no hazards to the public or firefighters. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
