South Adams Waste Facility Fire

Just after 14:30 on January 27th, 2026 South Adams County Fire Department Engine 23 was called out to a fire alarm at 6091 Brighton Blvd. at the Waste Management Disposal & Recycling Transfer Station. Engine 23 advised that smoke in the area of the facility and the call was upgraded to a structure fire response. Engine 23 arrived to a working structure fire inside the Building # 3 and pulled a attack line in for fire control. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed Waste Management command and a major incident tone was called. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system, enabling crews to fully extinguish upon arrival. One individual was evaluated onsite, and no further injuries were reported. Additional information provided by South Adams County Fire Department
