West Metro Abandoned Building Fire

On January 11th. 2026 at 22:54 Jeffcom 911 dispatched West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire in the 1400 block of Pierce St. in Lakewood. Engine 1 arrived on scene to a small single-story abandoned building with a working fire and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and advised that best access is off Otis St. Engine 2 secured the water supply to Engine 1 and Medic 2 with medical. Medic 1 pulled a 2nd hose line to the Bravo side for fire attack and Tower 2 with the primary search. District 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. The fire was put under control at 23:18 and firefighters worked on an extended overhaul and Tower 2 worked on master stream operations on hot spots. This building has had several fires in the past. The fire cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
