Mountain View Grass Fire

On January 28th, 2026 at 16:04 Mountain View Fire Rescue, Lafayette Fire Department and Boulder County Fire Management responded to a reported grass fire in the 8400 block of Baseline Rd. Boulder County Communications Center advised that the fire was about 15 foot from a structure. Battalion 205 arrived on scene and preformed a quick size up of the fire which was close to a structure and trees. Crews were able to get a quick stop on the small grass fire before it got into a nearby grove of trees. The fire started under a residential power line just north of the road and spread into a grassy area about an acre in size. Xcel Energy also responded to the scene to inspect a possible downed power line. Additional information provided by Mountain View Fire Rescue
