West Metro Patio Fire

On June 9th, 2026 at 03:48 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District was alerted to a possible structure fire in the 3600 block of Vance St.at the Morningside Retirement Community in Wheat Ridge. Jeffcom 911 advised that multiple callers reporting a patio on fire. District 1 arrived on scene to a large three-story multi-family structure with a working fire on the first level. Engine 16 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and the primary search with Medic 16 and Engine 1 secured the water supply to Engine 16. Crews were able to get a quick knock on the fire with no extension to the second floor balcony. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
