South Redlands Brush Fire

On July 4, 2018 the Grand Junction Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management were dispatched to a reported wildland fire in the South Redlands area of the city. Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy fire coming from a slash pile and other debris in a field off Rosevale Rd. A helicopter (Sikorsky 905) was called in to conduct water bucket drops while other firefighters tackled the blaze from the ground. No injuries were reported.
