East Colorado River Rescue

On July 5th, 2009 the Grand Junction Fire Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported water rescue in the Colorado River just east of Grand Junction. One person was able to exit the river and direct rescuers to the location of a second party. Both agencies deployed boats into the river and were able to rescue the second party from a sand barge. No injuries were reported.
