On March 20th, 2009 Mesa County Search & Rescue and Grand Junction Fire Department were dispatched to the Bangs Canyon Trailhead to assist with an injured hiker. Search and Rescue Team members and firefighters were able to reach the hiker using all terrain vehicles and return him to the trailhead parking lot where he was checked my medical personnel.
