Severance House Fire
Confirmed House Fire
Around 19:40 on May 27th, 2012 Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue with Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Poudre Fire Authority & Eaton Fire Protection District responded to a confirmed house fire at 37131 Soaring Eagle Circle in Severance. Engine 4201 arrived to a ranch style single-family dwelling with heavy fire on the exterior of the Charlie side and fire from the roof, and started fire attack in the offensive strategy. Upon Engine 4201, a propane tank exploded and landed 2 house over. Extension into the attic and interior was obvious upon arrival. Crews got a knock on the exterior fire while another crew was heading inside for a coordinated attack. The water supply was delayed due to a hydrant that was shut off at the street valve. Strategy was changed to a defensive operation once the roof started collapsing into the house. The homeowner was transported to a local hospital with minor facial burns and respiratory problems from attempting to put out the fire. Crews got control of the fire and started and an extended overhaul and investigation. The house, contents and several cars in the garage were a total loss.
