Denver ARFF Training
Denver firefighters assigned to Denver International Airport engaged in Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training on May 27th, 2014. Denver firefighters use three ARFF rigs to extinguish exterior flames before advancing hand lines inside the aircraft. The Denver Fire Department ARFF Training Academy at DIA is a modern, safe facility that trains firefighters in the most advanced methods of fighting aircraft fires. State-certified instructors incorporate unique interactive classroom technology and a full-scale aircraft mock-up to provide tremendous learning opportunities in a realistic environment. DFD maintains a district chief, an engine, a truck, seven front line ARFF rigs, two mini pumpers and several other miscellaneous pieces of equipment at DIA.
