Denver House Fire

Just after 20:00 on November 3rd, 2014 Denver Fire Department Engine 3 was dispatched to an outside smoke investigation in the 2900 block of Lafayette St. in the Whittier area. Dispatch received additional information that a structure was on fire and filled the group. Engine 3 arrived and laid in from 29th Ave. & Lafayette St. and found flames showing from the soffit on the 2nd floor. Engine 3 advanced an attack line to the interior and quickly knocked the main body of fire. Chief 2 assumed command and assigned Chief 4 to the Charlie side. Engine 8 established a water supply at 29th Ave. & Humboldt St. and laid in to the Charlie side alley and advanced an attack line to the rear of the structure. Engine 10 established the water supply from 39th Ave. & Lafayette St. and pulled a back-up line inside. Crews found evidence of homeless occupants and conducted searches which proved negative. No injuries were reported and investigators were called to the scene for the investigation.
