Denver Warehouse Fire

At 20:40 on May 1st, 2014 Denver Fire Department Chief 5, Engine 27 & Tower 27 were dispatched to a Class 1 fire alarm at 9911 E. 47th Ave. in Northfield. Crews arrived with nothing showing from the exterior and the reporting party advised that smoke was inside the building. Command requested a group while Tower 27 continued to investigate, and Engine 27 established the water supply and laid into the FDC. A large amount of combustibles had been knocked over by the water flow and moderate smoke conditions were present. Engine 26 established a secondary water supply on the west side of the building. Engine 9 and Tower 9 assigned as Rapid Intervention, and Tower 27 went to the roof. Crews located the seat of the fire about 150′ in from an exterior door which had been controlled by the sprinkler system. An attack line was pulled and charged for overhaul and the sprinkler system was shut down. All searched were negative and the fire was quickly extinguished.  No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation. Additional information was provide by Denver Fire Department
