Lakewood Outbuilding Fire

At 13:40 on January 26th, 2014 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a unknown fire at 940 S. Ames St. in Lakewood. Engine 7 arrived to a single-story 1000 square foot shed with fire showing in the back yard, pulled an attack line in and requested a medic for a patient with smoke inhalation on the front driveway. Engine 1 arrived and established a supply line to Engine 7 and pulled a 2nd line in. Crews were able to contain the blaze quickly, and extinguish it. Investigators found that a small fire behind the residence spread and ignited the nearby outbuilding. No other injuries were reported and fire is under investigation.
