C-470 Brush Fires

At 14:50 on February 9th, 2015 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported brush fire along C-470 between W. Quincy Ave. & W. Belleview Ave. Multiple 911 callers began reporting 3 fires burning along the highway, possibly threatening structures which prompted additional resources. Engine 11 arrived at one of the fires at C-470 east of W. Belleview Ave. and started direct attack. District 1 arrived and assumed command at the first fire. Two operational divisions were established and crews were able to provide structure protection to one home. Crews were able to quickly contain the grass fires which burned 4 to 5 acres. No damage to structures, and an extended mop-up was needed. The fire cause is under investigation. Additional information was provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
