Denver Fire Department newest firefighters are almost set to hit the streets. Recruit Class 2015-2, one of the biggest in DFD history, is four weeks into their five-week academy. The class, made up entirely of former Englewood Fire Department firefighters completed their last day of live fire training at the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy on June  24th, 2015.  The new recruits will graduate on Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 and be assigned to stations around the city. DFD picked up the additional firefighters after the City of Englewood opted to contract with Denver Fire and Denver Health for fire and emergency medical services effective May 31st, 2015.
