Tech Rescue Incident

On March 7th, 2015 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to collapse incident at 3301 Shoshone St. in the Highland area. Engine 7 arrived and secured a water supply at W. 33rd Ave. & Shoshone St. and began investigating with Truck 12. Chief 6 arrived and took command, and advised of a large concrete slab foundation wall that had fallen inside a construction trench, and not known if anyone was trapped. Crews evaluated the scene and discovered the ground was very unstable and could lead to further collapse. One home was evacuated and the Technical Rescue Team went to work. The aerial ladder from Tower 1 was used to get a close and a safe look at the trench. After an extended operation it was determined that no one was trapped or injured during the incident.
