Edgewater House Fire

At 14:13 on November 10th, 2015 Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 2000 block of Marshall St. in Edgewater with auto-aid from West Metro Fire Rescue and Fairmount Fire Protection District. A 911 caller reported all residents were out of the house, but family dogs were still possibly inside. Engine 73 arrived to a two-story home with heavy smoke showing, pulled a attack line in and declared an offensive strategy. Engine 1 secured a water supply at W. 22nd Ave. & Marshall St. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed command with visible fire showing from the Charlie side of the structure. Engine 71 arrived and assigned as primary search with Medic 1. Tower 72 was assigned proactive RIT and utilities. Pridemark arrived and assigned as medical. Engine 1 pulled a back-up line to the Engine 72 crew for fire attack. Engine 33 arrived and was assigned as man power on the fire, and Battalion 30 as safety. The fire was quickly knocked and crews checked for extension in the attic before the fire was declared out at 14:33. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
