South Depew Structure Fire

Around 13:00 on May 08th, 2015 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to possible structure fire in the area of Hampton & Depew St. and West Metro Fire Rescue was also alerted to a commercial structure fire at 3671 S. Depew St. West Metro District 2 arrived and reported smoke showing from a 3-story multi-family structure with fire showing from the delta side 3 floor unit and assumed command.  Engine 7 & Engine 8 set up on the for fire attack. District 2 assigned Engine 13 to get ladder off Denver Engine 28 to the Charlie side. Tower 3 arrived, assigned to Charlie side with Medic 8, Engine 13 & Hamer 1 for roof ops. Command identified a possible attic fire and Engine 9 advanced an attack line inside.  Engine 10 went to work on the plug and District Chief 2 assumed command.  Tower 9 completed searches of the first floor and basement which proved negative.  Truck 8 was assigned to vertical ventilation and Truck 26 as RIT.  Chief 6 and Engine 15 were assigned to the charlie side and reported flames along the eaves.  After Truck 8 opened the roof heavy fire vented out and Engine 9 worked to extinguish the heavy fire.  Extensive overhaul was needed, no injuries were reported and an investigator was requested.
