Wheat Ridge House Fire

On July 23rd, 2015 at 01:00 Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District with auto-aid from West Metro Fire Rescue & Fairmount Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire at 12335 W. 34th Place. Dispatched advised that 911 caller reported a bush & tree on fire in front of the house. Tower 72 arrived to a single-family residential structure with a working fire and heavy flames showing from the Alpha side. Tower 72 assumed command in the offensive strategy and began fire attack. Engine 71 arrived and pulled in a 2 1/2 line, Engine 5 secured the water supply from W. 32nd Ave. & Vivian St. and then was assigned as primary search. Engine 33 secured a water supply from W. 34th Pl. & Vivian St. to Engine 71 and then assigned to RIT. Battalion 71 arrived and took over command, Engine 73 assigned with ventilation on the Delta side, and Medic 2 assigned to assist Engine 71 with overhaul. The fire was placed under control at 01:46. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
