At approximately 17:30 on April 28th, 2016 Denver Fire Department responded to a river rescue in the South Platte River near Denargo St. and Arkins Ct.  A male subject on railroad right-of-way attempted to flee Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Police by crossing across the river when he became stuck. A member of the water rescue team swam out and was able to drag the subject to shore. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
