South Adams County Brush Fire

On March 4th, 2017 at approximately 13:30 South Adams County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported brush fire at Dreamscapes Landscape Center, 6100 E. 104th Ave. Firefighters arrived on scene and found fire burning in several large piles of mulch and that the fire spread through a fence onto neighboring residential property at 10230 McKay Rd. Additional resources were quickly requested from Thornton Fire Department and Brighton Fire Rescue District. Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading and spend several hours on scene tearing open the mulch piles and extinguishing hot spots. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
