Adams County Structure Fire

At 20:15 on January 5th, 2018 Adams County Fire RescueSouth Adams County Fire Department, Federal Heights Fire Department and Thornton Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in the area of E. 84th Pl. & Steele St. with multiple 911 callers reporting flames showing. Adams County Sheriff arrived to a RV on fire in the back of the address in the 8400 block of Steele St. Truck 14 arrived to flames showing, pulled a 2 1/2 line for quick attack, with fire spreading to a barn with horses inside, and made entry from the Riverdale Farm subdivision. Battalion 11 arrived and assumed command and assigned Battalion 21 as safety. Crews pulled a 2nd line off Truck 14, and checked for extension to the barn on the Alpha-Delta corner, and found fire in the barn with around 20 horses inside the structure. Truck 24, Engine 41. Medic 11 and Medic 14 assisted Truck 14 with fire attack and evacuating the horses inside the structure, Engine 13 arrived and established their own water supply on Steele St. and pulled a line in with Engine 71. Adams County Sheriff shut down Steele St. for fire operations, and Command reassigned Medic 11 as EMS rehab. Crews got the fire out after 21:00 and started overhaul. No reported injuries, and all the horses were evacuated and the fire is under investigation.
