Genoa Semi Rollover

The Genoa Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Hugo Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a semi accident on westbound I-70 at milepost 369 about 12:45 on August 31st, 2019. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a semi truck that ran off the left side of the road into the median and rolled onto its left side. The driver was not injured and the cargo was not spilled. Investigators believed the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Westbound I-70 was closed for about two hours while the wreckage was righted and cleared from the scene. Limon Police and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office diverted traffic onto a dirt frontage road.
