Glade Park Plane Crash

At Approximately 15:00 on May 11th, 2019 the Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched as automatic aid to Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department on a reported plane crash. Callers reported seeing and hearing a plane at a low altitude begin to stall and then witnessed a dust cloud. The initial location was reported at B South Rd. and S Trail Canyon Dr. Additional information reported the plane had crashed along N Trail Canyon Dr. northwest of the initial location. Callers also reported power outages and possible power lines down. First arriving Glade Park units found a single engine Cessna plane on the ground with moderate damage, all persons appearing to be out with power lines down. Crews mitigated the fuel leak present and left the plane with the owners and law enforcement. Persons involved were treated and released for minor injuries. The crash is under investigation by the NTSB and FAA.
