At 22:58 on May 3rd, 2019 JeffCom alerted Arvada Fire Protection District with auto-aid from Fairmount Fire Protection District to a reported RV on fire in the 4600 block of Miller St. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 52 arrived to small single family residential with multiple RV’s on fire on the Bravo-Charlie corner, pulled a 2 1/2 for exposure control, and secured their own water supply in the offensive strategy. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command with a working fire with extension into the home. Tower 56 arrived and Blitzfire from Engine 52, and started a primary search of the structure. Truck 31 pulled a line off Engine 52 and checked for extension in the attic on the Bravo-Charlie corner with Engine 51. Crews found active fire in the attic and command requested the ghost engine (Engine 53) to the scene. Crews got the fire under control on the RV’s and crews worked fire in the attic of the home, and command request the second ghost engine (Engine 57) into the scene for man power. Fire was put under control at 23:34 and crews worked an extended overhaul. No injuries and the cause is under investigation.
