Arvada Attic Fire

At 19:18 on March 11th, 2020 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to structure fire in the 5100 block of Iris St. with auto-aid from West Metro Fire Rescue. JeffCom advised that the 911 caller reporting smoke showing from the attic in the garage and the occupants were safely evacuated. Battalion 52 arrived in command to a single-story residential in the offensive strategy with light haze showing from the garage. Engine 17 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4 line to the garage and started the primary search of the first floor. Engine 51 and Medic 52 started primary search of the basement area. Truck 54 advised that smoke showing from the attic vents on the Charlie side, and Medic 16 arrived and assigned as medical. The primary searches of all floors proved clear, and crews located a small smoldering fire in the attic area which was quickly extinguished. No reports of any injuries.
