At 15:26 on December 19th, 2020 Arvada Fire Protection District and Fairmount Fire Protection District responded to a confirmed structure fire in the 19400 block of W. 85th Bluff in the Leyden Rock subdivision. Jeffcom advised that 911 caller stated that a garage was fully involved and everyone was out of the residence. PIO 54 arrived on scene at 13:33 and confirmed that nobody was in the residence, and provided a size-up to responding units. Battalion 52 arrived to and assumed command. Engine 57 and Engine 58 arrived on scene, Engine 58 set-up for a defensive fire attack using their Blitz Fire nozzle and their deck gun, which most of the fire was extinguished with that tactic. An additional 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 lines were pulled from Engine 58 for fire attack. Engine 57 secured utilities and entered the structure with an 1 3/4 line for search, rescue and fire control, and confirmed an all-clear on Division 1 and the basement, with no signs of fire or heat conditions. Engine 32 arrived and assigned for search, rescue and fire control on Division 2, and Engine 57 assisted with ventilating the structure. Tower 56 arrived and assisted with exterior salvage and overhaul. Crews were able to keep the fire from entering the living area of the home, but it did sustain smoke damage. Bureau 54 arrived on scene and started the investigation. Medic 52, Medic 56, and Medic 57 remained on scene and staged until cleared by command. No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by Arvada Fire Protection District / Tim McChesney
