Around 11:31 on April 7th, 2020 Boulder County Communications dispatched Boulder Rural Fire Rescue & Mountain View Fire Rescue to a reported structure fire in the 7000 block of N. 67th St. at Oxford Rd. in Niwot. Engine 2301 arrived to a single-story chicken coop with a grass fire and started fire attack in the offensive gadgetry. Winds were strong and the potential to spread to a nearby barn was high. Crews got the fire out quickly and started overhaul and the rest of the alarm was cancelled. It was reported that around 20 chickens did not make it in the fire and the cause is believed to be from a heat lamp to keep the chickens warm. No other information is available at this time.
