Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Elbert Fire Protection District was forced to cancel their annual Wing Ding Dinner and Silent Auction. However, in order to raise money for their Firefighter Fund, the department hosted a Spaghetti to Go dinner on October 10th, 2020. Firefighters prepared spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread for the community to purchase and enjoy at home. Firefighters raised about $1,000 through the event and will use the funds to help local families during the holiday season.
