Grand Junction 26 Road Structure Fire

At 14:15 on May 29th, 2020 Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a motor home on fire in the NW corner of 26 Rd. & G Rd. Brush 4 already mopping up the previous day’s fire was first in and found a well involved motor home and barn, additional units arrived within minutes. Engine 3 arrived, dropping a 5” supply line and set up for defensive operations from G Rd. with a deck gun. Access was limited to foot traffic and additional lines had to be stretched from the main entrance to the property as the fire was tucked back several hundred feet. Truck 1 arrived, dropping a 2 1/2 supply line to Brush 4 and Engine 2. Knockdown was called within 20 minutes and extensive overhaul began. Battalion 1 was assisted by Chief 3. Although near the day before suspected arson fires, this is not believed to be related, however the cause is under investigation.
