Around 09:30 September 12th, 2020 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to reports of a car crashing into the UPS Store near the intersection of S. Broadway & W. Mineral Ave. in Littleton. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a car had gone through the front of the store and was sitting inside. Crews assessed the driver and determined the person did not need further medical treatment. SMFR’s Technical Rescue Team stabilized the vehicle and removed a security gate that was blocking the path to take the car out of the structure. The car was still operational, so crews were able to put the car in reverse and drive it out of the store. A tow truck came to the scene to remove the vehicle. Firefighters found damage to the glass door and windows at the front of the UPS Store as well as minor damage inside, but no major structural damage. Luckily no one was injured inside the store at the time of the crash and after further investigation. Littleton Police Department determined the cause to be accidental.
