Federal Blvd Defensive Fire

Around 00:39 on July 19th, 2021 Adams County Fire Rescue with auto-aid from Westminster Fire Department was alerted to a structure fire at the Circus Cinema, 5580 Federal Blvd. with multiple callers reporting flames inside. Engine 12 arrived to a medium size structure with smoke from the Alpha side and started fire attack with Medic 12 in the offensive strategy. Engine 11 arrived and secured the water supply to Engine 12. Battalion 11 arrived and took command and assigned Truck 11 with a roof ops and Medic 11 as medical rehab. Crews worked heavy fire and heat conditions, and with fire through the roof the incident was changed to defensive operations. Truck 11 established a 2nd water supply and set-up with master stream ops. Command requested an additional truck to the scene, and assigned Engine 13 and Engine 1 to assisted with fire attack. Truck 2 arrived and started aerial master stream ops from W. 56th Ave. & Federal Blvd. Crews got the fire under control and crews were on scene for several hours with an extensive overhaul. Federal Blvd. was shut down in both directions during fire operations. No one was injured and investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set.
