Defensive Trash Fire
At 11:39 on June 15th, 2021 Denver Fire Department and Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a report of black smoke in the 5300 block of Washington St in North Washington at the All Recycling North Facility. Truck 16 arrived to a large active fire and went into defensive operations to the Bravo (north) side with Engine 9 laying an additional supply line. Tower 9 arrived on scene and supplied water to the Alpha (west) side of facility. Adams County Engine 13 arrived with a 2 1/2 attack line to the Alpha division, and upgraded their call to full structure response to Adcom. Adams County Truck 14 arrived and assisted Engine 13 with fire attack. Battalion 11 arrived and started unified command with Chief 2. Engine 18 monitored the Delta (south) division with hand lines. Crews quickly controlled the fire and extinguish all visible flames. The scene was turned over to Adams County Fire Rescue. The cause of fire is unknown and no injuries were reported.
