South Metro Garage Fire

At 16:58 on February 22nd, 2021 South Metro Fire Rescue and Aurora Fire Rescue were dispatched to a reported residential structure in the 5700 block of S. Kalispell Court in Centennial. As units were responding, a large plume of black smoke was visible from miles away. Units arrived on scene and found heavy fire coming from the garage. Firefighters spent about 25 minutes battling the blaze and they another hour checking for extension, ventilating the residence and mopping up hot spots. Several cats were rescued from the residence. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
