Colorado Springs Structure Fire
At approximately 22:20 on March 31st, 2021 Colorado Springs Fire Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of N. Franklin St. for a possible structure fire. Once all units were en route, dispatch advised they were getting multiple callers reporting flames coming from the backyard of the house and that someone was trying to put it out with a garden hose. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and confirmed smoke was in the area. Truck 1 arrived on scene, gave a size up, and called the incident a working fire. Engine 2 stretched a line down the back alley and began fire attack. Engine 1 grabbed a plug on San Miguel St. and Franklin St. and stretched a 3″ supply line to Engine 2. Truck 9 arrived and assumed RIT. Truck 1 Irons found fire in the attic and began ventricle vent and Truck 1 Ladders performed a primary search. The primary was declared all clear at 20:31. Truck 1 Ladders then exited to replace bottles. Engine 1 was assigned to take over for Engine 2 and Truck 1 checking for extension. Rescue 17 arrived and assumed command, Truck 9 secured utilities and was placed on deck to assist working crews. HazMat 14 arrived and assumed Safety and Accountability. Command declared the fire out at 20:50. Crews began to be released and the fire is currently under investigation by the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal.
