Wildland Firefighter Safety Event

Commerce City Parks, Recreation and Golf held a wildland firefighter safety event at Prairie Gateway Open Space on September 9th, 2026. The community was invited out to meet with Rangers, learn about their wildland fire operations, check out their equipment and receive valuable safety information. Commerce City currently has one ranger certified as a wildland firefighter through South Adams County Fire. Having a presence in the parks allows for a quick response should a wildland fire occur. Thank you to Rangers Nathaniel Mandril, Molly Peiffer and Brent Trumper Navarro for hosting the event.
