Thornton Apartment Fire

On July 18th, 2021 at 19:55 Thornton Fire Department with auto-aid from Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a possible apartment fire at 388 E. 88th Ave. Thornton Communications Center advised that Thornton Police officers on scene reporting heavy smoke showing. Engine 71 arrived to medium size three-story apartment complex with a working fire from the 2nd floor, pulled a 1 3/4 attack line for primary search and fire control in the offensive strategy with Medic 71. Engine 72 secured the water supply to Engine 71, and Medic 72 assigned as medical. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side, and assigned Engine 14 to pull a second line off Engine 71 to the 3rd floor and check for extension. Truck 74 started roof ops, and Truck 62 with ventilation. The fire was put out quickly and crews started overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
