The Federal Heights Fire Department and members of the North Area Technical Rescue Team participated in gondola rescue training at Water World on May 24th, 2021. Firefighters from Federal Heights Fire Department, Mountain View Fire Rescue, Thornton Fire Department and Westminster Fire Department practiced moving along the cables, accessing the cars and opening the doors in order to rescue riders who may be trapped if the gondola stopped working. The training is required each year by the State of Colorado and the park’s insurance provider before they open for the season.
