North Metro Airplane Crash

At 11:51 on May 22nd, 2022 Broomfield Public Safety Communications Center dispatched North Metro Fire Rescue District to a downed airplane at the intersection of Lowell Blvd. and Las Brisas Dr. in the Anthem Ranch neighborhood. SAM 61 arrived on scene to a small plane into the bushes with two occupants that did not survive the crash. No structures or vehicles were struck and no one on the ground was injured. The single-engine plane took off from the Erie Municipal Airport and crashed shortly after takeoff. The FAA and NTSB are conducting the investigation of the cause of the crash.
