The Arvada Fire Protection District dedicated the new Station 3 with an open house ceremony on April 2nd, 2022. The community came out in force to see the new Station 3 at 7300 Kipling St. which was the former site of the older Station 3. The ceremony started with the Arvada Fire Pipes and Drums Band and opening by Fire Chief Mike Piper, and then the invocation by Chaplains Kevin Kirby and Tyler Beck. The Arvada Fire Honor Guard presentation of the flags and the bell ceremony by Bert Brooks with the ringing of the bell. Station 3 captain Mike Kulp put the station into service by radio transmission to Jeffcom with the ceremonial first dispatch callout. Teresa Schaefer dedicated Jim Schaefer memorial outside of the station. Board members with future firefighters and command staff uncoupling the hose to officially open the station. The station has served the Kipling Heights area since 1963. Arvada Police Department and West Metro Fire Rescue also was on hand for the opening.
