Arvada Structure Fire

On August 24th at 16:44 Jeffcom dispatched Arvada Fire Protection District and Fairmount Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire in the 6000 block of Welch St. with multiple callers reporting flames showing from the house and all parties out and possible animas still in the house. Truck 54 advised smoke in the air from W. 64th Ave. & Ward St. Engine 56 arrived to fire stowing between two single-family residences with exposure to the homes on both sides of the fire, pulled a line in for search and rescue and fire control. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Engine 53 established the water supply to Engine 56 and Truck 54 assigned with ventilation and utilities. Rescue 52 pulled a second line off Engine 56 and Medic 52 as medical. Crews quickly began working the fire and went interior in both structures to conduct searches and extinguish the fire, which had spread primarily to the garage/attic of one residence and within the attic of the neighboring residence. Occupants of one home safely evacuated while the other structure was unoccupied at the time. No injuries occurred and crews quickly placed the fire under control.
