At 04:50 Boulder Police & Fire Communications (9100) dispatched Boulder Fire-Rescue Department Engine 2507 to a order investigation in the area of 55th St. & Arapahoe Rd. Engine 2507 arrived and started the investigation and found a single-story medium to large commercial building at 1770 Range St. off Western Ave. with smoke showing from the vents and made entry in the offensive strategy and requested to fill the box at 05:05 for a confirmed structure fire. Engine 2503 arrived and established the water supply, Engine 2502 arrived and pulled a 2nd line and Tower 2516 went to the roof. Battalion 2570 arrived and assumed command, and requested to strike a 2nd alarm. Crews encountered low to zero visibility and extreme heat inside and command transitioned to a defensive strategy.
