West Metro Commercial Fire

At 03:07 on December 8th, 2022 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible commercial structure fire in the 5990 block 0f W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. Engine 1 arrived to a large single-story abandoned warehouse with smoke showing from multiple places in the the roof line and started the investigation and search with Medic 1 and Medic 11. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Delta side in the offensive strategy and Engine 2 set-up for the water supply. The fire was put under control quickly and all searches proved negative. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
