Lyons Commercial Fire

At about 11:01 on December 15th, 2022 Lyons Fire Protection District as well as multiple other Boulder County agencies responded to the corner of 4th Ave. and Main St. in Downtown Lyons for a commercial structure fire. Engine 4001 arrived to a single-story strip mall with flames and heavy smoke showing from the Charlie side basement and started fire attack in the offensive strategy. Multiple businesses sustained heavy damage. One patient was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and several others were treated on scene. One Boulder County Sheriff deputy also received injuries from the fire. No cause determined yet. The cause is under investigation by the MAFIT (Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team).
