On March 18th, 2022 at approximately 08:20 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported commercial structure fire at the Albertsons/Safeway Denver Division Headquarters, 6900 S. Yosemite St. in Greenwood Village. The called was upgraded to a working fire after one caller reported smoke in the building and a second caller reported seeing flames. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a haze in the building. After a thorough search of all floors and the roof, crews determined the problem was cause by a faulty belt in the HVAC system. The building was returned to the property manager after firefighters neutralized the hazard and dispersed the haze. No injuries were reported.
